Where I am, and where you can be
The office is in Montreal. My practice is federal: the tribunals and the Federal Court serve the whole country, and hearings are frequently held by videoconference. Clients contact me from anywhere in Canada, and distance changes very little about how a file is handled.
What to have near you when you call
Nothing is required — but if you can, have the letter or decision that prompted the call, and the date you received it. Deadlines in this field are counted in days from receipt, so that one date usually tells us how much room your file has. If your file involves a deadline
Say so at the start of the call — the date on the letter, and the date it reached you. This is not about alarm; it is arithmetic. Several recourses in this field close in 15 days (to be verified — RAD Rules), and knowing where you stand in that count shapes everything we discuss.
